Well I delete text messages if I don't want them on my phone anymore. I don't like to have so many messages sitting there. I keep certain messages depending on who I'm talking to or what the conversation is.

That's kind of a funny question... but... I thought most people delete the spam and keep the important stuff right?

I delete everything unless it's super important or some kind of h arassment for legal purposes. I don't know why. I don't even keep messages my girlfriend send me.

I go through my inbox twice a year and delete the everyday mundane messages but I lock whatever is important to keep. Idky I do tho bc every time I get a new phone I don’t transfer and just start fresh anyway

I don't delete anything, emails or text. I'm lazy about stuff like that, and I just don't care. I thought my phone automatically deleted messages once they reached a certain amount, but I went and took a look just to see how far back they go...and I have messages all the way back to 2013! I haven't even had this phone that long so I think they automatically import when I get a new phone.

I don’t like to delete messages from friends or family because it can be used as evidence of som*thing, not necessarily som*thing serious, but if I have a question about when som*thing happened or what they or I said, I can just look at them, rather than just going by memory.. which isn’t accurate and I forget things.

I delete spam, or mean messages. Everything is kept from fam and friends. I even like to go way back on some messages to be like "aw". 😂 or if I get too caught up and forget the start of why a message brought up another message.

Well it is important to keep texts as proof of what people say to you - these things can help long term because a lot of times people like to change their stories so the texts help.

True. I actually wish I did this with a person I had in my life. She would tell me one story when I'd pick her up to take her to appointments and then text me a different variation of that story, this person, this place, this blame, this and that. So I didn't feel comfortable opening up the slightest bit, but then som*thing was "wrong with me" if I didn't open up. So I'm pretty sure she's kept me in her back pocket to put me in a story she's made up herself. Maybe she's forgotten about me. I wish.

I saw this TikTok where this woman would not had been believed by police had she not had proof that the other person was nutso... you gotta keep those receipts --- crazy world out there.
