Metal Gear Solid is a PlayStation video game series that was created by Hideo Kojima and published by Konami. Kojima used his game as an attempt to create a game that blended the styles of movies with gameplay. The first game in the series was released in 198 The franchise received enough commercial and critical success that Kojima was given the chance to direct the next installment. The second game, Metal Gear II: Solid Snake, was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game was praised for its pacing and some of its more mature themes, like nuclear warfare.
